This page provides a list of payment providers, as well as calculate the fees you can expect to pay for your particular application. I update this page regularly so you can get an accurate idea of the costs you will incur for each gateway. If you are an internet retailer, or want to allow your customers to pay you with a credit card, doing some research here can save you money in the long run.
This calculation shows your estimated costs for 50 transactions totaling $4,000 in a month. To adjust for your situation, use the "View Cost Calculator" link below.
Note: Many payment gateways do NOT publish their rates - you must request a custom quote. Those are not listed here.
Note 2: If you have a particular shopping cart / e-commerce system you want to use, CHECK to make sure it supports the payment gateway you choose. Otherwise you will have to pay someone, like this guy, to integrate it for you!

Not a true "merchant account", this option might be good for someone with few transactions per month, or who wants to 'test the waters' of online payments. 2CO generally costs more than other providers.

Solid, lower cost provider. Integrated to many shopping cart systems, but not as many as authorize.net. This is a good option for lower volume customers.

Good integration, however, the rap on Paypal is that they are a little heavy-handed on terms and payment transfer. Solid provider, best if you already use paypal heavily and want to keep everything in one place.

Provider Fees Explained
(as best I can figure 'em)
| Setup Fee: | Fee charged to process your account at the time you set it up. |
| Service Fee: | Monthly fee for the merchant account. |
| Gateway Fee: | Monthly fee for the online gateway account. |
| Transaction Fee: | Per transaction fee |
| Discount Rate: | This is the % you pay on the transaction amount. This plus the Transcation fee is the total amount you lose on a transaction. |
| Batch Fee: | Fee charged daily for processing the "batch" of transactions. So processing a low volume of transactions will increase your overall % costs. |
| Gateway Transaction Fee: | Additional per transaction charge for transactions going through the gateway (rather than offline retail purchases) |
| Monthly Minimum Fee: | Minimum monthly charge for processing. If your total processing fees are less than this, you will be charged the minimum. |
NOTE - the numbers here may not reflect the prices you actually pay - please check with your chosen provider before signing up to make sure you understand the pricing.
* I am a reseller or partner with these sites, and may receive a referral fee if you sign up with them. However, this arrangement does not impact your fees in any way.
